Michael Waltz: Trump and Pence Are ‘Absolutely Right to Maintain Maximum Pressure’ to Signal to N. Korea and China We Aren’t Letting Up

‘The first time the Kim family has sent someone to South Korea in decades’

RUSH EXCERPT:

WALTZ: "It is interesting. You mention the visual of him sitting next to a member of the Kim family. The first time the Kim family has sent someone to South Korea in decades. They are doing it to reemphasize the interkorean relationship and try to drive a wedge between South Korea and the United States. I think the vice president and the president’s strategy is absolutely right to maintain maximum pressure to tell and send the signal to both China and North Korea that we are not going to let up. That this isn’t going to work in terms of North Korea’s playbook. As soon as the pressure is dialed up to a point that they don’t like it, then they reach out a hand and try to extend their hand for talks. The Olympics provided an opening for that. I’m worried about the day after the Olympics when we have to dial it right back up again and South Korea has to be on board with that."
