CNN’s Bash Rips Trump’s ‘Tone-Deaf’ Porter Statement For Ignoring Abused Women: ‘Outrageous’ (Mediaite)

CNN’s Dana Bash was not impressed with President Donald Trumpacknowledging the accusations against Rob Porter but failing to explicitly offer sympathy to the women allegedly abused by the former senior White House aide.

Trump met with the press pool in the Oval Office today, and he was asked about Porter’s departure earlier this week. Trump said the scandal was “very sad,” noted that Porter has denied the allegations against himself, and the president also hoped Porter will “have a great career ahead of him.”

In her initial reaction to Wolf Blitzer, Bash noted that this is not the first time in which Trump has expressed support for allies who come under major scrutiny in situations like these. She went on to pan the statement as “tone-deaf,” and added that it’s “sad” Trump didn’t say a thing about the multiple women Porter allegedly abused.
