W.H.: ‘The Communications Director Did Recuse Herself’ from the Porter Matter

REPORTER: “When you consider the Porter matter now, do you think there were personal feelings, relationships in the White House among the senior staff, collegial and friendship relationships that clouded people's judgment on how this was handled?” 
SHAH: “I'd point you to a number of statements that indicate that White House was prepared to defend Rob Porter based on initial accusations that we heard about and his denial. And that was based on our experiences with Rob Porter. So to answer your question, I think that the initial response was based upon that.” 
REPORTER: “Did anyone recuse themselves from participating?”
SHAH: “The communications director did recuse herself from some matters concerning this.”
