Biden: Despite Jobs Report, ‘People Are Still Hurting,’ ‘There’s a Lot of Discontent’

‘We need over $3 trillion in infrastructure improvements just by the year 2020’

Speaking this morning at the Chamber of Commerce, Vice President Joe Biden said despite today's jobs report, "people are still hurting." Noting that average wages have risen just 14 cents since the recovery began, Biden said "there's a lot of discontent."

"You say, Joe, what does that have to do with what we're doing here today?" Biden asked himself rhetorically. "Well, I think it has a whole hell of a lot to do with it." The vice president went on to explain that America needs to invest in infrastructure.

"We need over $3 trillion in infrastructure improvements just by the year 2020," he said.
