RUSH EXCERPT:
HURT: "All the defections the decision of someone like Trey Gowdy of his integrity and intelligence, the idea he’s calling it quits does speak volumes about what a messed up and disspiriting place Washington has become. Trey Gowdy was in a powerful position and able to do meaningful things and an important investigations and had extraordinary leeway and powers and if he can’t find inspiration doing the great things he’s been doing up here and would rather return to the courtroom, not that it’s a bad thing, it’s a wonderful thing but in some ways more important but the fact he couldn’t find the inspiration here is depressing quite frankly."
