Danny Coulson on FISA Abuse Memo: Reputation of the FBI Is at Stake
RUSH EXCERPT:
COULSON: "The most important thing is it it be accurate. It’s like a rifle shot, you can’t unshoot a rifle. From what I understand it’s devastating and if it’s inaccurate or things in it that aren’t, it should be modified and the director of the FBI and his staff have the facts and they would know if it’s inaccurate but I think the key is convincing the president and his staff that more needs to be put into it or it needs to be revised. What we’re talking about is truth. Was there any effort or attempt or success in misleading the FISA court. If that happened then we need to know about that and the memorandum has to reflect that question and that answer for the American people. There’s a lot at stake here. It’s not just a memo. It’s the reputation of a federal agency, one I worked for for 31 years and let’s get beyond this and let the FBI do its job."
