Goodlatte, cotton wasn’t involved in it they brought this deal to the president that really wasn’t a deal and wasn’t what the president wanted or indicated he was willing to do. It got shot down. The reality, Martha, look, George W. Bush couldn’t pass comprehensive immigration reform. Barack Obama couldn’t pass comprehensive immigration reform. Just like only Nixon can go to China, only Donald Trump can sign comprehensive immigration reform into law. Democrats have to decide, do you want this issue for 2018 or help these people. The way they are handling this, leaking meetings, attacking the president. Exposing what’s said in a private negotiation, if they are acting like people that don’t care about illegal immigrants they care about the issue."
