Rick Tyler on Sh*thole Remark: ‘Inherently Racist and Anti-American’

TYLER: "Here is the thing, Craig, all of this sort of denies the American experience, American history, right? Because if you think about the Italians when they came over — I often ask people what if Nancy Pelosi and Rudy Giuliani have in common? And when people can't think of anything other than politicians, well they’re both Italian-Americans. And when the Irish came over, now most -- we have a disproportionate amount of Irish speakers of the House, There's Ryan, and Gingrich and Tip O’Neill, right? So, the problem they come over, they assimilate. They start out doing the jobs no one would do. Most Jewish immigrants started out in the garment industry. And, you know, you can look at the Jewish experience in America, they -- they go on and the Hispanics are in America and the problem is all their children are becoming doctors, lawyers, engineers and politicians. And so, you know, it just denies — people come here because they lack opportunity where they’re from. And so the idea, the suggestion that we should aggressively bring in people from Norway who has a greater per capita income than the United States, and they have a whole series of other attributes you can look at that are -- that are better, why would they come here? People come here because their countries don’t have opportunities. And so the idea that Donald Trump says we’ll have people come here who have countries of opportunity. But the other thing that's inherently racist is the idea that an individual who comes from, say, an African country with a low per capita income couldn’t come to America and make at least what the average American makes or more or live out whatever their particular dream is, which allows Americans and this network has documented many of those stories over the past couple of days. So, not only has the president expressed a view that's inherently racist he expressed a view that's inherently anti-American."
