And, you know, I think fundamentally, yes, that makes a great political story but does not change the fact that this is Donald Trump. I mean, we should not spend so much time focusing on Steve Bannon because Donald Trump’s politics have been cleared long before Steve Bannon ever got involved with Donald Trump, and this further illustrates this weekend that Donald Trump has very fixed and retrograde ideas when it comes to race in America. And that is, I think, kind of a shocking thing to say for the sitting president of the United States."
