Kevin McCarthy on GOP Retirements: ‘We Will Bring More People In; It Will Be Successful’

‘That’s the uniqueness that we have’

EXCERPT:

McCARTHY: "Remember, one thing that Republicans do, we don’t pick chairmen based upon the amount of years you served in Congress. It’s your ability. And Chairman Issa was already a chairman of Oversight, he did a tremendous job there. He served here a number of years and he wants to go off and do something else as well. He has been a very successful businessman. Same thing with Mr. Royce. He is term-limited as chairman. And same thing with Shuster. So, yeah, are there more Republicans? Yes because there are more Republican members. And a number of members who are departing, like Kristi Noem, she is running for governor of South Dakota."
FAULKNER: "Other offices."
McCARTHY: "Yeah. Diane Black. So they are actually moving up. We will bring more people in. It will be successful. That’s the uniqueness that we have. The competition makes even people better."
