EXCERPT:

ROTHMAN: "I have a very hard time seeing what the incentive is for anybody to get from DACA to infrastructure, essentially. Everybody wants DACA. The president wants DACA. Enough Republicans in the Senate and the House want a big deal on DACA. Democrats try to sort of put a line in the sand over a shutdown fight in December over this issue and sort of walked right through it because everybody wants to get this in the new year. Republicans aren't going to want to go to their voters in 2018 and say we put a trillion dollars in infrastructure on the table just after raising the debt, another 1.5 billion as much as Trump's supporters want this wall. How many Trump's supporters are there? I mean, I can’t imagine that the math works out such that people would say, 'OK, we’re going to risk this part of our base for something that doesn’t appeal to very many people.'"
