CNN’s Amie Parnes: President Obama Can Claim a Lot of Credit for Unemployment Numbers

PARNES: “Well obviously presidents golf during their vacation and you and I covered the White House and you and I saw President Obama doing that quite a bit, but he has actually done this quite a bit more than President Obama. And I think he just doesn’t want to own up to it, for whatever reason he wants people to think that he is back at work and, you know, it’s after Christmas and he is working again and he is focused on the economy and that’s something he's going to keep pushing in -- in 2018, something that he feels like he's, you know, in -- in charge of and that he is on top of. The fact of the matter is actually that President Obama can claim a lot of credit for it because unemployment numbers actually are something that, you know, that -- that take quite a bit of time to work through. But yeah -- but I think he wants people to know that he is in charge and on top of things and that, you know, he is not out there playing golf when in fact he is.”
