Bolton: Trump Must Get Serious About U.N. Funding After Anti-Israel Vote

‘I think the Trump Administration needs to use this as a fulcrum to look at funding of the U.N. system more broadly’

RUSH EXCERPT:

BOLTON: "Well, I think the trump Administration should take satisfaction from the fact that you did have 56 countries that either abstained or didn’t bother to vote at all. Including some pretty significant ones like Mexico and Ukraine. I think that the 128 votes in favor of this critical resolution were — that was a lot lower than I expected. I think it did have something to do with in a very short period of time the diplomatic effort to say there are going to be consequences. It won’t, I think, be consequences just in terms of foreign aid. I think the Trump Administration needs to use this as a fulcrum to look at funding of the U.N. system more broadly. This little theater episode of theater wouldn’t have happened but for the stage that the U.N. General assembly provides. And it’s such an insulting, meaningless exercise in international virtue signaling that I think that really the administration should get very serious how we fund a whole range of U.N. Activity."
