Fox News: Al Franken ‘Will Resign on January 2nd’

SMITH: "Just in, Fox News has now confirmed Senator Al Franken says he will resign on January 2nd, effective January 2nd. Earlier this month, the Minnesota Democrat announced he will leave the Senate after accusations of sexual misconduct. He denied some claims. He said he remembered others differently than his accusers, but he didn't say when he was leaving. We know along the way there have been new calls from Joe Manchin and others for him not to resign, but now it is a done deal. January 2nd is his last day. The Minnesota Lieutenant Governor, the Democrat Tina Smith will take Franken's place in the Senate."
