Goodell: ‘Mistakes Happen’

GOODELL: "I believe I have the support of the owners, that is clear to me. They obviously expect us to do a better job and, as I said to several, I don’t like to let down anybody, Peter. Myself -- starts with myself. I hold myself to the highest possible standards. So when I make a mistake or don’t get something right, it bothers me more than anybody. I think the owners have seen that in me. I think they know that we have always tried to do the right thing. Mistakes happen and I'm sorry for that."
