Doug Jones on Working with Trump: ‘There’s Always the Opportunity To Find Common Ground’

JONES: "Well, you know, Chris, I think there’s an opportunity at every turn. It doesn’t matter what the issue is, there’s always the opportunity to find common ground. You know, and I hope to have that voice. I said on election night that I hope this is a message not to just Republicans that we’ve got a Democrat who’s willing to reach across the aisle. I hope it’s a message to Democrats to try to find that common ground. You know, it’s one of those things where you’ve got to reach across, you’ve got to try. But it’s a two-way street. I mean people have got to respond backwards. And that’s why I’m hoping that we’ll be able to do that with this new voice and a new — and I think sense of enthusiasm coming out of the state of Alabama."
