News broke Saturday that NBC paid a former producer for Chris Matthews to settle accusations the host sexually harassed her.

This may not come as a surprise for viewers who have come to expect occasionally bawdry behavior from the MSNBC host.

In 1999, Matthews paid $40,000 to settle a claim from a former staffer who says he made inappropriate jokes and comments about her in front of others, the Daily Caller reports.

On air, Matthews is known for doing the same.

In 2007, the host awkwardly hit on his then-NBC colleague Erin Burnett, urging her to get closer and closer to the camera so he can get a better look at her "beauty."

"Can you get a little closer to the camera," Matthews told Burnett. "Come in further, come in close, really close."

A visibly confused Burnett, who has since transitioned to CNN, appeared uncomfortable with Matthews' directions.

"I don't even know," she stammered. "I'll have to look at the tape here."

"You look great," Matthews told her. "You're a knockout."

And last year, Matthews was caught on a hot mic ogling Melania Trump

"Look at how she walks, do you see her walking?" Matthews said as MSNBC was broadcasting a live shot of the Trump family. "Runway walk."

"I could watch that --" Matthews is heard saying before MSNBC producers played music to drown him out.

Matthews is also known for using pornographic descriptions to ridicule Trump. In June, the host said Trump wanted to "fluff," the Russians, a word he's used frequently to describe Trump's relationship with Russia.
