Jake Tapper Knocks ‘Extremist’ FBI Rhetoric from Trump Supporters, Fox News (Mediaite)

CNN’s Jake Tapper opened today with President Trump‘s “stunning but no longer surprising” comments on a potential Michael Flynnpardon.

“I don’t want to talk about pardons with Michael Flynn yet,” the President said, “we’ll see what happens. I can say this, when you look at what’s going on with the FBI and the Justice Department, people are very, very angry.”

(Ty Cobb said afterwards that a pardon isn’t being considered.)

But Tapper also took note of the comments Trump made criticizing the FBI and DOJ and how he said people are “very, very angry.”

“Who? What people?” Tapper asked. “I’ll tell you who. Those whom the President pays the closest attention to: his supporters.”

He proceeded to show a few clips rom Fox News tearing into the FBI (i.e. comparing it to the KGB, “banana republic”):

“So by ‘people who are very angry,’ the President is referring to those who are true believers in him and/or those who have a career interest in such decidedly pro-Trump biases, they think nothing of this incredibly extremist rhetoric. Impugning the credibility of Bob Mueller and Justice Department officials and the entire FBI? A hearty congratulations to all the graduates out there at the FBI academy at Quantico. Good look out there.”
