TOOMEY: "Let's be clear. My democratic colleagues have done a great job mischaracterizing this. Listen to the comments as recently as yesterday claiming, insisting, that this is somehow a middle class tax increase. Yet in the Senate, on the Senate floor, I'm sorry, one of them offered an amendment as it applies to low and middle income, make it permanent. No. Every single one voted for it. They've mischaracterized it. The proof is clear. Early next year people's withholding will go home, take-home pay go up and when they see that happen it's going to make very clear how beneficial this is."
