Chris Wallace: DoJ Official Meeting Fusion GPS Raises Questions About FBI Probe’s Credibility

‘Even the possibility of it and the fact that a top Justice Department official was meeting with these people raises concerns’

RUSH EXCERPT:

WALLACE: "Well, let me try to explain why this potentially — only potentially — could be important. We now know that the dossier was funded by the Clinton campaign and that it was research and a number of charges of collusions between the Russians and Trump campaign and very sail arabous and completely unverified and largely discounted allegations about President Trump and his personal conduct as Donald Trump a private citizen in Moscow. So the idea that a top justice Department official is meeting with, one, the person who put the dossier together, Christopher Steele and the person who ran the company that Steele worked for, Glenn Simpson, is troubling. There are two reasons particularly. One is the degree to which the dossier was used to begin the F.B.I. Investigation of Donald Trump and possible collusion in the first place. And the other as was pointed out by congressman Issa the question was whether or not the dossier was used to get FISA warrants. We don’t know if they’re true. Even the possibility of it and the fact that a top Justice Department official was meeting with these people raises concerns. Yesterday Christopher WRAY the F.B.I. Director was asked about all of this and refused to answer it because he said it’s the subject of an investigation by the Justice Department inspector general. It raises questions about the credibility of the F.B.I. Investigation and whether it was based on this research from the Clinton campaign."
