MSNBC’s Mohyeldin: Trump’s Jerusalem Embassy Move ‘Definitely Undermined’ His Relationship with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE

‘They are all surprised, extremely surprised about this decision’

EXCERPT:

MOHYELDIN: "It is definitely undermined. I’ve spoken to representatives and officials from all the governments you’ve listed in the gulf, particularly the Arabian gulf, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, they were very optimistic on President Trump having a strong tone about Iran. That is something they were concerned about. But they are all surprised, extremely surprised about this decision for a few reasons. One, they had told President Trump particularly through Jared Kushner and others this is a bad decision. It would break trust with the region at a time that you’re trying to gain the trust of these leaders and trying to get them to an Arab peace initiative of sorts. That’s something that Saudi Arabia was interested in doing. And obviously we’re hearing the official statements which is completely rejecting President Trump's decision. But what really has been surprising is the fact they’re questioning why President Trump would have made this decision without in any way, shape, or form taking into consideration the concerns of these leaders."
