Peter King: Feinstein’s Wrong, ‘The President Had Every Right to Fire Director Comey’

‘He was leading the nation and the world to believe that President Trump himself was under investigation and yet he had told us privately for months that the president at no time was the subject of the investigation’

EXCERPT:

KING: "As far as Senator Feinstein talking about obstruction of justice, the President had every right to fire Director Comey. He was leading the nation and the world to believe that President Trump himself was under investigation and yet he had told us privately for months that the President at no time was the subject of the investigation. And yet you have a president going around the world negotiating with foreign leaders trying to build up support here in this country and probably 99 percent of the country thought that President Trump was under investigation. And when the President asked him to say publicly he is not, he wouldn’t do it. To me that was the main reason why he should have been fired. He was putting a cloud over the presidency. I always liked Jim Comey, but in this area I can’t defend him at all. To let the world think the President of the United States is being investigated when he is not and you have the power to say that, I understand exactly why the president fired him."
