Bill Kistol: Roy Moore Is ‘Flat Out Lying’ and He Is Following Trump and Thinks He Will Get Away with It

‘Are we supposed to pretend that the mystic connection that Roy Moore has with people in Alabama transcends the actual facts of what he did?’

EXCERPT:

KRISTOL: "I was on a TV show yesterday and someone said, 'Well, you know, it doesn’t just help Roy Moore when Washington, D.C.-types like you come down and criticize him. People in Alabama resent being told how to vote.' I’m not telling them how to vote, but he is what he is. 'The Washington Post' did the reporting it did. No one has seriously challenged the accounts in the 'Washington Post.' Are we not allowed to say that? Are we supposed to pretend that the mystic connection that Roy Moore has with people in Alabama transcends the actual facts of what he did? And he’s lying about it. He is just flat out lying. I think in that respect he is following the President and the President got away with it. Roy Moore thinks he will get away with it. I'm hopeful he won't. I do think this write-in candidate Lee Busby gives Republicans in Alabama a place to go if they don't feel they can vote for Doug Jones."
