WSJ’s Freeman on Kushner: ‘What Is the Problem with a Presidential Transition Official Talking to a Foreign Government?’

‘This is routine’

EXCERPT:

FREEMAN: “You mentioned how the investigation keeps broadening. People watching this might wish that it would focus on what it was supposed to be created for, which is examining if there was collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government in rigging the election. We are seeing Mueller looking at things that are not about the election. This is the transition. It’s not about Russia in this case, but what is the problem with a presidential transition official talking to a foreign government? This is routine and I don’t think there’s any problem talking to Israel. I’m not sure where this could go, but it’s a reminder that a year and a half after the government started looking at this suggests we are still waiting for that evidence of alleged collusion.”
