Steve Schmidt was appalled by President Trump effectively backing Roy Moore and called today a “tragic day for the Republican party.”
He emphasized the allegation about Moore and a 14-year-old girl in his conversation with Chris Hayes, saying that “this exposes a profound moral rot in the country, in the Republican party.”
