Jane Harman: Obama Was Right, ISIS ‘Is an Anti-Muslim Group’

HARMAN: “First of all, I think they are overreaching, and I think they didn’t just horrify people in America, I think they horrifying the Muslim world. One of the messages that needs to get out and  President Obama said it last night, that this is an anti-Muslim group. They killed many more Muslims than westerners ... Congress ought to be stepping up on its own initiative. It should not need to be asked. It’s good that John Boehner says there now may be authorization for this training mission in Syria. But I think there ought to be authorization for the entire mission and the 2001 authorization to use military force against al Queada in Afghanistan, can be stretched, and pulled, and thorn, and that 60 day window under the War Powers act too. But as a lawyer, I think this is little too cute and Congress, which has the constitutional authority to declare war, ought to decide whether it's going to declare it or not."
