Charlie Hurt: Subpoena Issued to the Trump Campaign Is ‘Classic Mueller Intimidation Tactics’

‘This is all designed to intimidate people and make people understand that these guys are very serious and they intend to find something that they can charge these people with’

EXCERPT:

FAULKNER: "A Fox News alert; new questions on the Russia investigation. A source telling Fox News that special counsel Robert Mueller has issued a subpoena to the Trump campaign. It happened last month, covered about 140 people. This despite the fact that the campaign has been cooperating with the probe and voluntarily handing over information. The source describes the subpoena as one meant to capture records not already provided to Congress and Mueller's team. Let’s bring in Charlie Hurt, opinion editor and columnist for the 'Washington Times' and a Fox News contributor as well. So this catching the Trump team off guard, what’s the significance of moving in — it seems like a surprise move, is it?"
HURT: "Sure it is a surprise move, but maybe it shouldn’t be such a surprise move given the tactics that we’ve seen so far from Robert Mueller. This is — you know, this is classic Mueller kind of intimidation tactics, what we saw with the early morning no knock raid where 12 agents raided Paul Manafort’s home in July, his wife was still in bed, agents hassled her while she was still lying in bed. This is all designed to intimidate people, to make people understand that these guys are very serious and they intend to find something that they can charge these people with."
