Steve Hilton: ‘We’re Actually Going to End up in an Economic War with China’

‘Even yesterday, for example, we saw that Amazon, one of our biggest companies, was forced to sell its cloud computing business in China to local Chinese company’

EXCERPT:

HILTON: "But when you get to the specifics, I think it’s not quite as glossy a picture as maybe he or some of his hosts want to paint, particularly in relation to China. I think the truth is that we are in an economic war with China and you are seeing that every single day. Even yesterday, for example, we saw that Amazon, one of our biggest companies, was forced to sell its cloud computing business in China to local Chinese company. It's part of a pattern of the communist regime in China basically stealing technology from American companies in order to pursue their goal of world economic domination. It is good that President Trump has established a good warm personal relationship with President Xi, because what I think will happen in the years ahead is that that relationship will be really tested. We are actually going to end up in an economic war with China and that is going to lead to some big confrontations. If they have the basis for a good personal relationship to navigate that, that’s a good thing."
