Arrests are being made in San Diego Thursday morning, as local fast food workers strike as part of a one-day nationwide campaign called Fight for 15.

Hundreds of people were marching from one local fast food restaurant to another and SDPD officers arrested about a dozen people, who were sitting in the middle of University Avenue. The march also took place in City Heights before 8 a.m. Employees are demanding $15 an hour plus the right to unionize.

“I want to enjoy life. I've been homeless a lot because I can't afford rent,” said Jay Ames.
