Paul Ryan: ‘Identity Politics Has Gotten out of Control in Our Country’

RYAN: "I didn’t hear his speech but I think identity politics has gotten out of control in this country. And I think identity politics is being played on the left and on the right. I think it's really dangerous for our country. What identity politics does is it seeks to exploit fear, ignorance and it seeks to exploit differences among people and prey on those differences. That’s how you disunify a culture, a society and a country. There are people who for some reason believe that it’s not immoral, it is, and there are some people who believe that identity politics is the way to win an election."
