Evan McMullin: I’m Glad Corker Is Speaking out But He ‘Participated in Normalizing’ Trump

McMULLIN: "And it’s gotten them off the hook for so many things for so long that they feel like that’s an acceptable way to think. And it absolutely is not. In fact, it’s brought us to a point where we have Senator Corker, of course, the chair of the foreign relations committee in the Senate, saying that the president is bringing us to the precipice of a global war. So the thing is that Donald Trump sort of hinted and threatened sort of nuclear activity during the campaign. We’ve known that this was the reality of Donald Trump for a long time. Corker participated in normalizing that, in attacking people like me and others who wouldn’t fall in line. I’m glad he is doing what he is doing now. He is doing the right thing. He is speaking truth. I support and embrace that. But the reality is we need leaders that have more courage and are willing to do the right thing for the country even when it’s hard."
