Fred Fleitz: Trump’s Senior Advisers Want Him to Stay in Iran Deal So They’ve Invented This Middle Ground Option

‘He called this the worst deal ever and an embarrassment to the United States and I think he is right’

EXCERPT:

FLEITZ: "There’s a lot going on here and I think it is a time for moral clarity by the President. He called this the worst deal ever and an embarrassment to the United States and I think he is exactly right. I think he would like to withdraw from the agreement, but the senior advisers want him to stay in so they have invented a so-called middle ground in that the President won’t certify the agreement to Congress but will stay in the agreement to fix it later and to add sanctions. Let me put it very clearly. Unless H.R. McMaster who is pushing this option has a magic spell to hypnotize the Iranians into giving back the huge concessions they extracted from John Kerry and to massively improve this agreement, this is a fake option to make sure we never withdraw. My hope is that the President does the right thing, completely withdraws, using a planned advance by Ambassador John Bolton."
