According to a new report in Politico, the Health and Human Services Secretary’s proclivity for flying on private and military planes has cost taxpayers more than $1 million, for both domestic jaunts and trips overseas.

In a statement released on Thursday, Price pledged to reimburse the government for the cost of those flights, claiming: “The taxpayers won’t pay a dime for my seat on those planes.”

Of course, that means Price is only reimbursing the cost of his “seat.” According to HHS, the cost of his seat comes to $51,887.31 — a very small fraction of the $1 million+ his jet-fetish has cost taxpayers.
