Cornel West Turns Tables and Accuses Trump of ‘Disrespect for the Flag’ (Mediaite)

For yet another night, much of the media’s attention was focused on the ongoing feud President Donald Trump is engaging in with NFL players for protesting racial injustice by kneeling during the national anthem. With the president devoting more tweets and discussion to the topic today, CNN brought on well-known activist and professor Cornel West to talk about the issue.

And West went all-in on Trump pretty much right away.

After Anderson Cooper asked him about Trump’s comments claiming that his constant assaults on the majority-black league had nothing to do with race, West likened the president to a drug addict.

“I think the president needs to get off the symbolic crack pipe and have a sense of reality,” West said. “The reason why these courageous young people are standing up because they have a love for black people, justice and fairness and they’re concerned about a racist criminal justice system.”

And he wasn’t done with slamming Trump.
