Gyllenhaal on Boston Bombing Film: Can’s Shy Away from Pain

GYLLENHAAL: “We’ve always said about this movie, this movie is about a guy who learns how to take a few steps and enormous journey where he has to go to get there. And it is full of pain. But you know it’s also full of laughter. And thing that made me fall in love with this character, and the sense of humor.”
TAPPER: “That really comes across.”
GYLLENHAAL: “Yeah. And I this I think that is what we tried to get as well. You can’t shy away from the pain. I think life is full of both. And if you cut corners one place, you are going to have to cut corners the other and I think audience can feel that.”
