Dana Bash Notes ‘Irony’ of Melania’s Anti-Bullying Speech After Trump’s Hillary-Golf Retweet

‘We don’t think it’s appropriate to condone hitting a golf ball at a former competitor and knocking them over’

Dana Bash Notes ‘Irony’ of Melania’s Anti-Bullying Speech After Trump’s Hillary-Golf Retweet (Mediaite)

CNN’s Dana Bash thought there was a “more than a little bit of irony” that Melania Trump would give a speech about the importance of setting a positive example for children based on her husband’s behavior.

The First Lady spoke at a United Nations luncheon today about the importance of protecting children and teaching them to be decent ethical stewards of society. A good portion of Mrs. Trump’s speech focused on the abuse children face from cyberbullying.

CNN’s Inside Politics round-table reacted to the address afterwards, and John King noted how Mrs. Trump has spoken about online meanness before while leaving out all the slings and arrows PresidentTrump dishes out online. Bash has criticized the First Lady on this front before, and she said that even though today’s message was commendable, there are quite a few people who would not be happy if their kids followed the president’s example on Twitter.
