Geist: Trump Made Clear He Believes Kim Jong-un Will Only Respond to Military Force

GEIST: “He definitely made clear that he believes Kim Jong-un will respond only to the threat of military force. He gave a little bit of a nod to the U.N. for pushing through new sanctions and tightening the screws a little on North Korea, but I think Donald Trump personally believes that speaking man-to-man, if you will, to that leader and saying, 'I will destroy you' is the way to do this. That’s dangerous, it’s an escalation obviously, and it takes us to a place where maybe we don’t want to be or haven’t been before. But I believe that he believes that's the only thing that will respond from North Korea.”
