Former Democratic Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (Tenn.) said Tuesday that the new initiative slogan launched by Democrats earlier this summer, promising a "better deal," has been "forgotten."

During "Morning Joe's" 10th anniversary episode, host Joe Scarborough questioned why Democrats were still struggling with messaging, and have not seemed to make any gains since the election of President Donald Trump.

Scarborough paraphrased a FiveThirtyEight article published on Monday that said if the presidential election were to be held today, there would be no big difference in the state turnouts and results.
