Viral ESPN Reporter Makes Emotional Video Statement After Tanking on Monday Night Football (Mediaite)

Early Tuesday morning, we chronicled the Monday Night Footballbroadcasting debut of sideline reporter Sergio Dipp — who went viral for completely tanking.

Dipp — who was working in his second language Monday as he primarily appears on ESPN Deportes broadcasting in Spanish —was the subject of Internet mockery after his 30-second clip for the ages. But the public reaction clearly got to the 29-year-old broadcaster — who posted a heartfelt video to his Twitter account.

“All I wanted to do was show some respect, making my debut as a minority on American national TV, the biggest stage out there, on the most heartfelt day in this great country made up by immigrants,” Dipp said. “And on [sic] some people’s perspective, it all went wrong.”
