Pam Bondi to Price Gougers: ‘You Cannot Inflate Prices ... I’m Going To Go After You’

HEMMER: "I’ve lived through many hurricanes. This is by far the worst we have ever seen. I’m glad the people are listening. They’ve sold 30,000 pieces of plywood for people and you are blasting companies for price gouging. What did you find out about those accusations." 
BONDI: "A lot of them were very valid. Almost 9000 complaints to my price gouging hotline. During a state of emergency, you cannot inflate prices and go after Floridians are I’m going to go after you. The majority were against Chevron. I said Chevron, contact me --"

BONDI: "Within an hour the BP was on the phone. They will pull franchises as a bad actor. They have executives all over the country in south Florida going out to the badlands. A lot of these are franchises. 711 for instance, 39 complaints right here in Tampa bay of them hiking up the prices of water. People desperately need water. Corporate, I was on a conference call today. 711 called me. They gave $150,000 to the American Red Cross and so far today delivered 100,000 free bottles of water to Floridians to make up for their bad owners."
