Dr. Ed Rappaport: Harvey and Irma Are ‘Unprecedented’ in How Strong They’ve Been Back to Back

‘We are actually more concerned ultimately with the storm surge, the rise of the water inundation along the coast that is blown ashore’

RUSH EXCERPT:
RAPPAPORT: "Both hurricanes obviously were very severe. In the case of party, Harvey produced most of its damage from rainfall and that was because the storm stalled. We are not expecting that to occur but because Irma is so strong, the wings themselves are likely to cause severe damage. We are actually more concerned ultimately with the storm surge, the rise of the water inundation along the coast that is blown ashore. That’s our biggest concern for this hurricane along with those winds."
