Mark Meadows: ‘Incumbent’ on Congress to Act and Deal with the Border and DREAMers

‘I’ll remind you, when President Obama talked about deferred action, he said this was a temporary stopgap measure intending for Congress to act’

RUSH EXCERPT:

MEADOWS: "I do know personally from the standpoint — there is a real compassionate side of things. On behalf of maybe a parent or somebody else getting them in, so it was really a fight between that. And the constitutional principles that we have. If you allow a president only to make those laws, we have a problem. I’ll remind you, when president Obama talked about deferred action, he said this was a temporary stopgap measure intending for Congress to act. So this president has said it’s the duty of Congress to pass those laws so we get rid of any inconsistency. It’s now incumbent on members of Congress in the house and the Senate to act and deal with this to make sure we have secure borders but that we treat people with compassion as well."
