At Celebrity-Studded Event, Obama Says Can’t Perform Flawlessly Every Night

The president makes light of his debate stumbles

Obama Jokes He Doesn't Perform Flawlessly Night After Night (Fox News)

LOS ANGELES, California - At a star-studded concert in Hollywood, President Obama joked that unlike the rock stars who were on stage before him, he doesn't always perform perfect each night.

The president praised the stars for performing on stage flawlessly night after night and followed up with "I can't always say the same," a reference to his debate performance on Wednesday, which was widely viewed as a win for his GOP opponent Mitt Romney.

The concert came on the heels of his best fundraising month yet, and featured performances by Jon Bon Jovi, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry and Jennifer Hudson.

George Clooney introduced the president at the concert at the Nokia Theatre in front of 6,000 people, most of whom paid $250 to attend.

Even though he spoke in front of the crowd shortly after the concert, he didn't actually get to see the performances.
