Trump Gives a Shout Out to ‘Poor’ Jeffrey Lord in Phoenix Speech (Mediaite)

While President Donald Trump was busy railing against the media tonight during his Phoenix campaign rally, the president took some time out to give a special shout out to one media figure he’s a big fan of — recently fired CNN political commentator Jeffrey Lord.

During a tirade on the media’s coverage of his Charlottesville response that seemed to go on forever, Trump took constant aim at CNN, with the crowd chanting “CNN sucks” at one point.

During one such rundown of the cable news network, he gave Lord — a loyal Trump supporter — some love:

And then you wonder why CNN is doing relatively poorly in the ratings. Because they’re putting like seven people all negative on Trump…and they fired Jeffrey Lord. Poor Jeffrey. Jeffrey Lord. I guess he was getting a little bit fed up and he was probably fighting back a little too hard. They said we’d better get him out.”

Trump then moved on to other subjects, such as ripping his predecessor, Barack Obama.
