Bolton: The Most Important Aspect of Trump’s Speech Was He’s Not Obama on Afghanistan

‘He was quite frank’

EXCERPT:

BOLTON: "Look, I think apart from the lack of specificity, the most important aspect of Trump's speech last night was to make it clear to everybody he’s not Barack Obama when it comes to Afghanistan. And he was quite frank. I thought -- I’ve been trying to look at examples in earlier presidential speeches where he said I started out my instinct which is usually pretty good was to get out. But I’ve been persuaded not to get out. That’s as honest a politician description of reversing field as I've heard in a long time. And I think that had to have a powerful impact on people who thought he was going to be as isolationist as Barack Obama."
