Veep’s Julia-Louis Dreyfus Who Received a Note from Hillary Later Learned Clinton Had No Idea Who She Was

‘I was thrilled to have it’

EXCERPT:

LOUIS-DREYFUS: "What happened was this. Somebody who worked on 'Veep' also worked with Hillary Clinton and did her makeup. So my friends at the makeup department, as a gift, they give me a note from Hillary Clinton back when she was secretary of state that said, you know, 'Dear Julia, I hope you get a good job reform and education reform, etc. as veep. Best wishes, Hillary Rodham Clinton.' So, of course, I was thrilled to get this and I had it framed in my house. And about two years later the e-mails all sort of started flooding out and somebody tweeted to me an e-mail that Hillary Clinton sent to a staffer that said, 'A friend of mine needs me to write something for Julie Dreyfus. Any idea what to say? She's on some show.' So he writes back, 'It's called 'Veep.' I will admit, I have not seen it, but I will do research.'"
