E.W. Jackson: We Need to ‘De-Racialize’ Charlottesville and Talk About Principles Instead of Skin Color

‘You can’t have a society in which people are constantly pointing the finger at others’

RUSH EXCERPT:

JACKSON: "Well, look, Trish, in spite of what everybody is doing right now and attacking the president, what many are doing, I think there’s a part of what the president has said that we all need to heed. In order to heal, it takes both sides. Sure, we should condemn white supremacists. It’s evil, it’s wicked. You can’t have a society in which people are constantly pointing the finger at others saying, your beneficiary, white privilege, we don’t want you at our graduation, we don’t want you in our meetings, all white people, America is a nation of white supremacy and let’s say let’s come together. We have to shun these extreme voices and figure out a way to become one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all. That requires deracializing this discussion and talking about principles rather than the color of our skin."
