Ken Cuccinelli Tells Symone Sanders to ‘Shut up’ During Debate on Charlottesville
CUOMO: "What is your point of disagreement exactly?"
CUCCINELLI: "Right. Well, my point of disagreement is that that was an excuse to bring these groups together. The local blogger who got the permit to protest the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue then blew this up. That was an excuse. Look at -- look at even --"
SANDERS: "And now someone’s dead."
CUCCINELLI: "-- how they got the permit. And -- can I finish, Symone? Can you just shut up for a minute and let me finish?"
CUOMO: "Easy, Ken."
SANDRES: "Pardon, Mister, you don’t get to tell me to shut up on national television. You --" [crosstalk]
CUOMO: "Hold on."
CUCCINELLI: "And so there's always racist comment, always neo-Nazis --"
SANDERS: "I’m sorry. Under no circumstances do you get to speak to me in that matter. You should exhibit some decorum."
CUOMO: "Ken, stay civil with how you -- hold on, guys. Both of you stop for a second. Symone, Ken? [crosstalk] Symone? Ken and Symone, hold on a second."
SANDERS: "So you have to shut up."
CUOMO: "You need a reset. You need a reset. Ken, you don’t want to use language like that when you’re talking to Symone. You can disagree but don’t -- you don't talk like this on this show. You know better than that, Ken."
CUCCINELLI: "Hey, Chris, I keep getting interrupted. I keep getting interrupted and eventually I've got to stand up for myself."
CUOMO: "I know, but Ken, we don’t tell people to shut up on this show. I know, but Ken, you can stand up for yourself and still be civil. That's now who you are."
CUCCINELLI: "How do you make them stop talking when they keep interrupting you?"
SANDERS: "Them? They? I am sitting right here." [crosstalk]
CUOMO: "You let me -- you let me do your job. I'll give you both chances. No, but Symone, I apologize for that. We don’t talk to people like that on this show. And Ken, I know you, you don't talk to people like that. And I know you don’t mean to insult somebody like that on this show."
