Guam Governor Praises Trump for ‘Fire and Fury’ Threat: ‘I Want a President’ Like That (Mediaite)

It appears that all is calm in Guam… at least for now.

On Wednesday night, Guam Governor Eddie Baza Calvo told Brian Kilmeade that there is “concern and worry” among the people of Guam, “but there’s no panic” after North Korea threatened to strike the U.S. territory.

“If you can recall going back to 2013, this is about the third, fourth threat made by North Korea specifically to Guam,” Calvo said. “We have 160,000 American citizens on this island… we have 10-15,000 tourists enjoying our shores. We encourage everyone to go through their lives and live them like you’d do any day.”

While Calvo said North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un‘s recent threat is “no different” from what was said back in 2013, Guam’s governor is “concerned” that his threats may “ramp up.”

He also offered praise for President Donald Trump for his “fire and fury” remarks and took a swipe at Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for his rhetoric.

“As far as I’m concerned as an American citizen, I want a president that says that if any nation such as North Korea attacks Guam, attacks Honolulu, attacks the west coast that they will be met with hell and fury,” he continued. “What I’m concerned about is if a U.S. senator says ‘Initiate an attack’ and causing a war… this is American sovereign soil… So it’s important that as we make decisions that those folks that are in a position of leadership that they understand too that war is the last option.”
