Fox News: Veterans Affairs Forced to Rehire Director

‘Secretary David Shulkin has been trying to finally bring some accountability to this agency by firing employees who do not take care of our nation’s veterans’

BAIER: "Not so fast, that's the message from one federal agency to one another. Achieve national correspondent Ed Henry outside the veterans affairs building in Washington with details. Good evening."
HENRY: "That's right. Secretary David shulkin has been trying to finally bring some accountability to this agency by firing employees who do not take care of our nation's veterans. And yet today we learned the merit systems protection board which handles appeals ordered shulkin allow Brian Hawkins back to work even though Hawkins was fired last month as the head of the va medical center here in Washington, D.C., after officials discovered the hospital was putting patients at risk. A report by the va inspector general found dirty conditions and supply shortages dating all the way back to 2014, a second report found Hawkins had broken va policy by sending sensitive information to private email accounts. After Hawkins was initially demoted in April, the following month you'll remember you interviewed secretary shulkin and he held up this case as an example of how the trump Administration wanted to finally clean things up."
